Heatherlea Wine Labels

I have always found wine labels fascinating. Whether it’s the complexity of German labels or modern contemporary designs many wine labels are miniature works of art designed to catch your eye and create interest immediately while simultaneously conveying enough information to allow for an informed choice to be made.

Even though Heatherlea only produces around twelve bottles of wine per year, I believe that I should at least, take the time to try and design a suitable label.

The current labels are below and as the vines are in a garden setting it seems appropriate that the labels should celebrate the connection to the garden and nature.

Heatherlea – 2022 Chasselas/Pinot Noir, Garden bird designs. Birds visiting in the garden during 2022.

The 2022 and 2023 labels have been designed around some of the animals that are ever-present from spring through to summer. Whether the sound of the first skylarks heralding spring or the wonderful song of blackbirds on a summer evening, the industrious buzz of bees, even the raucous ‘craw’ of lone rooks in the fields are all evocative of ‘the garden’.

Heatherbee’ – 2023 Blush, Garden bee label designs. Bees visiting in the garden during 2023

I am always looking for inspiration and any suggestions for next years labels, or any other labels would be more than welcome.
